"Down With the Sickness"? Not my favorite song of all time, but it's definitely process soundtrack worthy.
"Dude Looks Like a Lady" A bit overdone with TG's in movies, but still. "I Put a Spell on You" Creepy and weird, but it could be applied to a processy situation.

Work on the soundtrack continues!
Hey, what do you know, I've got some free time and I'm finally coming back to this project. Sorry bout that, I got frustrated trying to find samples of all the suggested songs and kinda gave up.
So... I'm kinda noticing a pattern in these songs, and they seem to fall into two general groups- sexual ones and horror ones. The two types of songs clash enough that I think we oughta keep them separate, and work on two separate playlists- one for each side of an album. Call them The Process Soundtrack: Light and Dark In addition, there is a varying emphasis on 'process'- i.e. how much they talk about some actual transformation rather than just projecting a vibe or extolling the virtues of a certain body part. I think that the soundtrack would work better if there was the same emphasis on 'showing change' that we try and get in the visual art here, but I'm not sure where to draw the line on that yet so I am going to try and be inclusive for now. If you guys have opinions on this please share them. Anyway, here is what I got: Light Side: Sheryl Crow - A Change Would Do You Good Lords of Acid - I Must Increase My Bust Dark Side: Metallica - Of Wolf And Man Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become Guitar Wolf - Planet of the Wolves I found Mika's Big Girl, and it was okay, but there definitely wasn't any suggestion of change in it. Disturbed's Down With The Sickness definitely talks about change but then rather severely segues into domestic violence- if anyone has an edit of it without him yelling at his mom in the end it would be awesome. Lastly, there are a LOT of versions of 'I put a spell on you', and some of them are excellent, but they seem to be mostly MC oriented. (Not that that is all that out of place here.) Aqualung's version especially is downright romantic but also explicitly MC. If you guys still think I should include a version say so. The other stuff that's been suggested I'm still looking for. there's a french song called "La femme chocolat" by Olivia Ruiz, here's the translated lyrics:
Carve my hips with an axe I ate too much chocolate Crunch my skin, please Crunch my bones, if needed It is time for big changes On the verge of my tiny little tits are insinuating, sharped and plumped, Two hazelnuts, crac! You ate them It is time for big changes On the verge of my slightly openned lips is growing a raspberry bush red and silvered Could you kiss me to cut it... Knead my hips with your kisses I'm becoming the chocolate woman Let my Nutella hips melt The blood flowing in me is hot chocolate... One day I will take off through the sky by keeping on pump up... And I will yawn lightning A comet planted between the teeth I will transform myself into the chocolate woman Carve my hips with an axe I ate too much chocolate... |

TYKUN, I found La Femme Chocolat on youtube, and the English Language fails to describe it. Unfortunately I know no French. It's especially amazing considering that I like it in spite of knowing no French and not being crazy about inflation. Thanks for directing me to it. Still don't have an mp3, though.
After seeing Mental Process getting a hard time down in the "Anything Goes" Subforum, I decided I ought to show some love and so I've put up two versions of "I Put A Spell On You", Aqualung's and Screaming Jay Hawkins'. Their differences nicely embody the differences between light and dark process. I'm still trying to come up with a general philosophy for what fits on the soundtrack and what doesn't. For example, how about Oingo Boingo's Weird Science? Sure, it's supposed to be about a Mad Scientist who is trying to build the 'perfect woman'- but you can very easily imagine that it's about a Mad Scientist trying to turn someone into the 'perfect woman'. And then there is the Donna's cover of Dancing With Myself. Billy Idol wrote this lament about going to clubs and not being able to find a girl, which is universally agreed to be one long euphemism for a guy masturbating away his sexual frustration- and the Donna's sing it more upbeat, without changing the lyrics. The very first time I heard it I immediately imagined a Futanari dancing around her bedroom in her underwear, flopping all over the place while lipsynching to the radio. Comments and suggestions welcome. Last edited by Very_Good_Karma; 11-08-2007 at 04:30 PM. |

I'm surprised they haven't been mentioned before now, but I suggest I Wish I Was a Girl by Violent Delight, and a song of the same name by Counting Crows.

Adriss, ma-kun, those are some very interesting songs you have suggested. So interesting that, even though I don't think they are really fit for the soundtrack, I have got to link to places where they can be heard and give them a full-blown process review.
Counting Crows - I Wish I Was A Girl - On Rhapsody I listened to this song a few times, then found the lyrics and read through them over and over, and I still cannot tell what this song is supposed to be about. The Counting Crows sound like a soft rock band sincerely trying to imitate the melancholy of country; so this song seems like a classic list of regrets directed to an ex-girlfriend, lamenting all the pain, etc. The operative line is "I wish I was a girl, so that you could believe me." Okay, simple enough. They had a misunderstanding, and she doesn't really trust men so she never bought his explanations. Something like that. But then the lyrics get confusing: Quote:
Violent Delight - I Wish I Was A Girl - On Esnips. Um... yeah. This has to be heard to be believed. It almost sounds like a punk rock band stumbled across the works of Ed Miller and found them so hysterical that they had to make a song about them. Really, really sarcastic. Barenaked Ladies - I'll Be That Girl - On Rhapsody - On LyricsFreak Okay, this one is definitely about transformation in some form. However, it gets weird. Quote:
