I can't vouch for the rest of the forum, but in my case, it's disturbing for the fact that it isn't a turn off.

Now I have to go to bed reconciling phallic noses with my otherwise urethra-nostril-free paradigm now. And not only that, I need to work through the fact that, put in the context of a transformation, it's arousing.

Organs laid bare would generally make reproduction quite a hassle so I'm not sure how it would be more natural. I guess it kind of makes sense from a fruedian perspective, but biologically speaking, killing your mate very rarely turns out well.
