Welcome to the new server and 'Where did my post go?'

The server move took a little longer than expected (moving 21 gigs of stuff from one place to another is never quick) so while you are reading this on the new server, it is a only current up to sometime late Friday or early Saturday. If you posted something between then and now and it isn't here - please repost it.

So what did you get as a result of this server move? Well, there will be more disk space available for The Process, and the network connection is faster and finally, the box has 2 much more powerful processors versus the single processor on the old box and 12 gigs of RAM. The end result should be a faster, bigger Process site without the database outages and other minor glitches we were starting to experience on the previous box.

If you spot something amiss, let us know - if you don't tell anyone it might not get fixed,

Loving it so far! I'm noticing greatly increased load speeds! Keep up the good work.

Re: Welcome to the new server and 'Where did my post go?'

is there any way of grabbing thing off the old server before it wipes?

I had just read about the server switch and was tryin to figure out what posts needed to be kept and copied to repost....when it flicked over. More than a few _long_ posts gone as a result....

I concur. In this thread, there are several posts over the last few days that I'm not sure have been saved, nor do I believe they can be replicated from memory.

Re: Welcome to the new server and 'Where did my post go?'

You will have to wait a couple of hours for it to get distributed through the dns system, but the old site will be available for a limited time at:

http://old.process-productions.com/forum

You might have to keep changing the URLs to be old.process instead of www, but that gives you a couple of days to copy whatever was missed off the old box.

Re: Welcome to the new server and 'Where did my post go?'

I'm following the links to the old index, but I get nothing but error messages. Can anyone help me to rectify this problem? I'm the GM for a few RPs, so it really is my responsibility to fix them.

Don't worry; I'm off my meds this time.
Seriously, though, I was just making a reference to a review video I saw a while back...
