I've never seen this before, so I think searching for nothing rather than having a poster make it seem original to me is better than me never seeing it at all. Take it to the flame and bullshit thread if you want to flame.

I was pointing out that if the OP had put any effort into checking if this game had been posted before, he would have found that it had within moments. Oh, and I love that "Forum posting is serious business!" sarcasm, because after all, who cares about having any semblance of standards, anyway? You have no problem with threads being posted in triplicate or people creating threads simply to ask for process stuff, then?

And noxi, would you care to explain why you are accusing me of flaming prior to this post? I'll admit that this particular post would likely toe the line, but your particular brand of idiocy is what pushed me to it. My first post was telling him what he did wrong, and my second post stated that I wasn't singling him out, that anyone else who did the same thing would have been told exactly the same.

I agree with Wildcat, this game has been posted something like five times, on at least two different boards. Three on this one I believe. In fact, about 8 threads down is another topic about this game.

We don't let people necro, we don't let people request outside of the request thread, why should we let people start two/three/four threads about the same thing?

Part of the problem here is vague thread naming. If you read the threads, you'd have to be an idiot to not realize this one links to the same game. From the title, however, no one would guess. I was looking for a cheat sheet someone had posted for the game the other day and got lost because none of the various threads are clearly labeled or focused. Was it in the Magic Shop thread? the something something game thread? the other one? TF? BE? Everything Else? I couldn't tell you now without doublechecking.

Little things like looking before you post and being descriptive in both the title and body can make everyone's forum experience smoother.

In most cases, you would be right, Snowglare, and your points are very much valid.

The difference here, though, is that this is BE-based game - those just don't come up very often. For example, if you decided to only check the first page of the BE forum for threads specifically containing the word 'game', you would only have to search two threads(ignoring this one, of course), which took me a matter of seconds. One has the text adventure flash games on furaffinity, and the other is the thread where this was already posted.

Alternatively, you could have simply used the search function. I put in "meet n fuck magic book", and the previous thread came up just fine; not only that, only that thread and this one came up, so I didn't have to sort through a bunch of crap that had nothing to do with what I was looking for.

Useless titles are more to blame for some things being posted multiple times than the people posting them, that's for certain. In this case, though, it still would've taken little effort to find that the game had been posted already.
