Image -- Fairy Saver manga
OK, I'm pretty sure this one isn't posted anywhere, since the compilation only came out last November. This is from Shouryou* Tokusou Feariseibaa: Tengudan no Imbou <Special Investigator Spirit Visitor Fairy Saver: Conspiracy of the Tengu** Gang> by Kamitou Masaki.
* the kanji can also be read as "seirei", which is "spirit or soul of the deceased" ** the long-nosed goblins of Japanese mythology This is a pretty strange manga, as our heroine (and her "boss" and associates) comes from the land of the dead to deal with supernatural crimes or mysteries in the world of the living. This compilation is almost 200 pages long, so I'm not going to be able to tell you all about what's happening, since I'm not very far into this one. This sequence is from a little past the midpoint in the story. I believe this is the lead character who is confronting a group of tengu and is diverting their attention by demonstrating that she can alter her... um, size. I'm not clear yet as to whether she is conducting this as a sort of game (with the gang members guessing how big she is now) or as a challenge as to whether she can grow further. In any case, it's a trap: she pretends that her breasts are getting too big and are out of control, knowing that the magical explosion (that's my guess) is about to wipe them out. [She shortly returns afterward to her usual (fairly large) size...] I've also included the cover, in case anyone wants to get it. Last edited by Old_Chestnut; 07-24-2005 at 07:15 PM. |

Nice find.
I'd say you have got something there.
Yes I am quite familiar with the Tengu. I probably would not call them goblins although they are defined in america as such. Like the "Oni" which are demons of hell are called "Ogres" in American translations. Come on, there is a difference between a demon and a ogre. Right? Anyways. Thanks ChestNut, you have found something I have not yet. *Chuckles* |

A lot of dictionaries, though (I use the Shogakukan Progressive Japanese-English Dictionary and The New Nelson Japanese-English Character Dictionary render tengu as "long-nosed goblin". It's one of those subtleties that leaves the translator with the choice of using a short but inaccurate phrase or a long explanatory footnote... |

More BE from Kamitou Masaki
I was bored recently and decided to see if I could find any works from Kamitou Masaki on eMule. And after downloading about 7 of his mangas, I found a BE sequence from "Tenshin Miko Shiina". Its sorta weird how it happens, but its still nice ^^
