I've always wondered this... What do people have against furries? (I prefer the word "anthro" but I'm just splitting hairs) I don't hold anything against people who donl't like them, but I just wonder why...

Because some of us prefer more human things. To me a furry/anthro is half beast (or whatever) and I don't like having half of my thought on a dog, cat or whatever when I'm browsing porn-like material.

Personally, not only is it the furry porn that I'm sickened by, but kinda the general furry stuff too. Now, if they're portrayed as animal people in RPGs or something, they can be kinda cool, but when they try posing off as people, wearing normal clothes, hanging out with normal humans, going to school, getting jobs, etc... It just goes too far (to me) to try make these animal-humans into normal humans.

First they're going to school, then they're doing furry porn.

(but, I don't hate people who are into furries. heck, I'm great friends with an anthro artist. it helps that he doesn't draw anthro all the time and when he does, a lot of it is cool RPG-style, not the type I mentioned above.)

Fair enough. But you only mention porn. There's plenty of anthro art out there that has absolutely nothing to do with porn, like my own art for instance. Why do people have this hatred for anthro art in general?

Well for me it stems from my comic teacher in college. If you do furry comics and try and make a name for yourself, you're instantly branded and blacklisted. You'll never get a job with a mainstream company or even be able get your stuff published with a major company because of the content. Furries are generally disliked by them because of all the furry porn there is out there. This is why, even if you DON'T do furry porn, they immediately just bunch you together and act like you do. This was driven so hard into our brains when I was in college and it's pretty true too. All my friends at college who did furry stuff havn't made anything for any big companies or gotten jobs with them, wheras the people who did human stuff got in right away.

There's also the blaitent sexual overtone that furries have thanks to all the furry porn. For me, when it comes to a fetish, or anything else sexually related I don't want to be thinking of animals or creatures that LOOK like animals. I'd rather see a HUMAN becase I AM a human. Furries are more or less a form of beastiality for me and that's why I get annoyed whenever I see furries in general... especially on a fetishy site like this.

That's me though. I know alot of people who love furries so meh. It's just a personal hatred with me, but I can accept other peopel's tolorance with them. Just none for myself.

Honestly, besides the massive imports of japanese culture, they also export plenty of hate.
