Re: More BE for your Buck
I meant a link to CCBill that is apparent if and when you want to cancel.
However, I have to admit that there is a CCBill "cancel your subscription" link in the email sent to new subscribers. My fault for not going back and checking that. I would withdraw the dispute, but my bank was more efficient than I thought, and already credited me. That said, it would be nice... 1. If you're supposed to cancel your subscription through CCBill and not the site itself, the contact form on the site did not have, above it, the instructions "Please Note: If you are contacting us to cancel your subscription membership, you must include your login name and password in the e-mail. Failure to include your login name and password will likely result in your membership not being canceled." 2. If I had received a personal reply within 24-48 hours, as promised by the automated response to the contact form. Last edited by catfish27; 04-30-2010 at 07:54 PM. |

Re: More BE for your Buck
CCBill isn't that bad to cancel, once you figure out how. It could be clearer, but then they couldn't nail you for another billing cycle when you get fed up and forget about it for a few days too many.

Re: More BE for your Buck
If you're looking to hide your files you can try some of the methods I did.
One is to save everything in a folder of a folder in program files. Name it something that sounds technical. If your family doesn't know much about the innerworkings of program files and is likely to NEVER check so deep, it'll work fine. It won't be searchable in the start menu (at least on vista) and it's really really obscure. The only problem I had with this is that on Vista, sometimes the files would disapear, and I could view them with a "save as" or "load/open" but not in the actual file. I guess that provides added security but I couldn't move them either, so I had to get Unlocker to do that. So I don't highly recomend this method unless you know how to prevent this. Now that I have my own computer, I hide it in plain site on my downloads section. However, I've given it a "filey" sounding name, and changed the icon. Combine that with hiding it somehere in a subfolder of a subfolder, and make sure you clear out your "recent files" on your start menu, and you're good. |

I guess I could see the mind control complaint, but I don't remember it being too prominent. Then again, I like a lot of that stuff too. I remember being really shocked by how virulent and angry people got about mind control stuff, taking it really personally, and I can see those people being pretty vocal.
