Re: Amazon Hotel (story) (Mini-GTS, PG)

Chapter 7

Margaret ran out to the rear of the hotel, away from the public facilities. She sat underneath someone’s balcony and began to cry.

That’s it, she thought. I’ve lost my job and now I need to go back to bagging groceries or something mindless like that. I fucked it up but right good. She struck her fist on the ground and yelled at the open air, then bent her head down and continued to cry.

“Now just what is the cause of all this?” came a voice from above her.

Margaret cursed silently and closed her eyes. After a moment, she stood up and turned to see who was talking to her. Nathan, chewing on a cigar as usual, had his hands on the railing of his balcony. She stood in front of him, almost at eye level, and tried to keep her voice steady.

“Hi, Nathan.”

He took the cigar out of his mouth. “Hi, Margaret.”

“I…” her voice began to shake almost immediately. “I just got fired.”

Nathan looked at her incredulously. “And why is that?”

She smiled, through her tears. “I guess I decided that I didn’t deserve that kind of treatment anymore.”

Nathan smiled back. “You want to come in my room? Talk in here?”

Margaret nodded.

--

Sitting on Nathan’s couch, Margaret, crying, told him what happened. Nathan found a towel for her to blow her nose into, and stood in front of her as he listened to her story.

He laughed. “I wish I’d’a been there. I’m proud o’ you, girl.” He placed a hand on her knee, which reached his stomach, and patted it reassuringly.

“Yeah, but now I’m out of a job!”

“A smart, gorgeous young lady like yourself? You’ll have no trouble gettin’ work. You might think about not giving that Alexandra lady as a reference for your next interview, though. I daresay she may not give them the impression you want.”

Margaret laughed through her tears. “Yeah, but I was only here for two weeks, Nathan!”

“You wanted to work here all your life?”

She shook her head.

“You think this is the best you can do?”

“I know, I know, but here, I get to…” she trailed off.

“What’s that?”

“Nothing.”

“Now, now, that will simply not do. Tell me what’s on your mind, young’un.”

She looked up at him. “Nathan… I’m four foot eleven.”

Nathan seemed unfazed. “That a fact?”

“You have no idea how much it sucks. I hate it so fucking much. I have to look up at everyone else, all the goddamn time. People think I’m a kid sometimes. I have trouble finding clothes that fit…” she paused to blow her nose into Nathan’s towel again. He took it from her, walked to his bathroom and dropped it into his tub. It landed with a wet slap sound. “But… here… here, I can talk to people normally! When I’m tall, men think I’m attractive. I can actually hold a conversation without being intimidated or imagining that I’m not being taken seriously. I love it so much when people have to look up to talk to me, Nathan. I don’t want to make other people fell small! I really don’t! I just… I just don’t want to be small myself.” She put her head back down. “I always feel small.” She raised her hands and looked at them, flexing her fingers. “And this is the last time I’ll ever be able to feel not small. I only have a few hours left.”

“Margaret.” She didn’t respond. He put his hand back on her knee and shook it slightly. “Hey, Margaret.” She looked up. “You go home tonight, and by tomorrow morning you’ll be back at four foot whatever. Can’t change that. But you don’t remember what I told you yesterday, I see.”

She sniffed. “What?”

“Once you have it, you have it. And I’m lookin’ at you and I think you have it.”

“I don’t.”

“Yeah, you do. You may not realise it, but the next time you feel small, you just need to remember that you are the lady who decided today she didn’t deserve that treatment- and she did something about it.”

She smiled, but didn’t say anything.

“And if you didn’t deserve it today, then you won’t deserve it tomorrow. Or the day after. No matter where the top o’ your head is. You just remember that.”

She looked up again. She placed her hand on his, leaned forward, and gave him a peck on the forehead, which took up the top half of his head. “Thanks, Nathan.”

He spread his arms. “I am always here.”

She wiped her eyes and laughed again. “I just wish it had been Dolores. I mean… I bet I could have gotten way better distance.”

Nathan now laughed. “No question, dear.”

“I mean, I hated them both, but Dolores was just so…” She took a deep breath. “Anyway. She’s off in her private room for the day, and lucky for her, I guess.”

Nathan cocked his head. “Lucky, for sure. Where’d you say she is?”

Margaret shrugged. “She took a room here in the hotel. She grew, too! No idea why. But I figured anything that gets her away from me for a day is okay.” She grinned.

“Uh huh.” Nathan walked over to the room’s telephone. “You know which room it is she’s in?”

--

“Come on, wake up! Wake up, you stupid drunkard!”

Dolores shook Joshua’s head as roughly as she dared. She certainly didn’t want to hurt him, but she wasn’t sure what else to do. He lay naked on the bed, totally unconscious and snoring, while she tried to coax him awake. She tried rubbing his flaccid penis, she tried shaking his head, and she tried yelling in his ear, all with no result. She went to the bathroom and returned with her cupped hands filled with almost a litre of cold water. She splashed it on his face. The water caused him to open his eyes and choke and sputter, but as soon as he could breathe normally again, his head lolled from side to side and he drunkenly fell back asleep.

“God damn you, you little…” Dolores almost struck him in anger, but stopped herself. No, that would accomplish nothing at all. No sense in hurting him. But I need him awake! It’s no good if he isn’t awake! She punched the mattress right next to him, her fist the size of a soccer ball, and he rolled slightly toward the depression that she caused. I can’t believe he passed out. It was going so well…

She stood, looking down at the naked man on the bed. She placed her hands on her hips. Okay, Dolores, she thought to herself. What do you do now? How do you wake up someone who’s so drunk that… as she was looking down, she noticed that his penis was beginning to twitch. Her eyes widened. Is he… dreaming? Is he waking up? She thought only for a moment. Doesn’t matter. Maybe he doesn’t need to be awake after all. I can do this. She got down on her knees and leaned over him. She took a moment to admire the difference in their sizes before she began. That is something I had forgotten, she thought. She placed her hand on his chest and admired how it stretched from his groin to his chin. She smiled to herself.

A beep sounded from just outside the room, and Dolores looked up in surprise as the door to the hall opened. Malcom walked in, but stopped short upon witnessing the naked, seventeen-foot-tall manager of the hotel kneeling in front of a similarly naked, unconscious man. Dolores gasped and stood up, covering her nakedness with her arms as best as she could.

For several seconds, neither of them spoke. It was Dolores who broke the silence.

“Mr. Robinson! I, uh…” not knowing what else to say, she fell quiet again.

Once Malcom recovered from his initial shock, he looked around the entire room, noting the two togas on the floor. He crossed his arms. “Miss Crowley, I’m going to assume that you didn’t get my message from yesterday.”

--

Sabrina was almost dancing. That was so wonderful, she thought to herself. I can’t believe everyone isn’t getting that massage. She went back to the bar where Joshua had said he would be waiting for her, and didn’t find him. She frowned. She looked around the pool area, in the restaurants, and in the pool showers. She didn’t find him, so she returned to the bar where she had been originally.

“Excuse me,” she said to the Amazon tending bar, who looked up. “I’m looking for my husband. He said he’d be here.” She described him quickly, and a glint of recognition came into the bartender’s eyes.

“Yeah, he was here maybe forty-five minutes ago. He left, though. Went back to the hotel.”

Oh. “Thanks.” Sabrina walked off. I wonder why he left.

Wondering, she entered the lobby just in time to see the largest woman she had ever seen leaving the building with slumped shoulders, with her hair fallen over her face. She was tall enough that Sabrina would barely have reached her stomach. The toga she was wearing barely covered her crotch, and she was barefoot. As she walked by, Sabrina caught a momentary glimpse of her face and was struck by an intense sense of familiarity. Where have I seen her before…? she thought. As this titanic woman walked out the door, accompanied in silence by a man in a business suit who barely came up to her knee, she had to duck to avoid banging her forehead on the gigantic doorframe. The staff all gawked in awe. Some were wearing expressions of surprise, others expressions of joy or relief. They all began chattering excitedly, except for Alexandra, who stood with her arms crossed by the door to the staff room. Alexandra noticed Sabrina and looked at her intensely, in a way that Sabrina found impossible to interpret. Before she could approach her, though, another Amazon approached Alexandra and began speaking urgently. Alexandra turned her attention to this newcomer, and Sabrina shrugged and walked down the hall back to her room.

--

“Wait… do you mean that Miss Crowley is fired?” Alexandra stood with her mouth agape. She looked over Malcom’s head to see Dolores sitting in the bus, hunched over uncomfortably because of her height, staring blankly into space.

“I’m not aware of all of the facts just yet,” said Malcom as he looked up at the Amazon standing over him. “And I certainly don’t want to start any rumours. But yes, for the moment at least, she is no longer the manager of Hotel Hippolyte. Once I find out exactly what’s happened, I’ll be sure to contact you immediately.”

“Why, though?”

“I am not starting any rumours. I promise I’ll speak to you as soon as I’m more certain. In the meantime, I need to know if you are capable of taking over her managerial duties.”

Alexandra turned her head down at the man standing in front of her. “I’m being promoted?”

“Well, you are the assistant manager. You have been for several months. You’re the most qualified person for the position. I just need to know that you’re ready to take it- right now. Possibly indefinitely.”

Alexandra looked back up into the windows of the bus. Dolores was looking out of the window now, and her eyes met Alexandra’s. Alexandra raised an eyebrow and smiled at her before turning her eyes back down to Malcom, who was staring up at her expectantly. “Absolutely.”

Malcom extended a hand for her to shake. She took it. “In that case, congratulations, Miss Elytis. You are, until further notice, manager.”

She smiled. “Thank you, Mr. Robinson.” Alexandra looked back up at her former boss, who was staring out of the window in disbelief. She turned and went back into the hotel – her hotel.

--

“Wait… do you mean that Miss Crowley is fired?” Margaret jumped up off the couch.

“Oh my, yes.” replied Nathan. He hung the phone back up and put his cigar back in his mouth before turning back to Margaret, standing in front of him in his room. “Not a chance she’ll be back. Malcom went and found her in that room, engaging in – shall we say – unprofessional behaviour with a guest.”

Yes!” Margaret cried out in joy. “Then… maybe you could get me my job back?”

Nathan shook his head. “No can do, dear. That is to say, I could force ‘em to give you your job back, but that ain’t no one would enjoy that. Not you neither.”

“Are you kidding me?”

“Whodja think is going to be manager next?” Margaret stopped and, crestfallen, sat back down. Nathan continued. “That’s right. That might could be awkward.”

“So… bagging groceries for me.”

Nathan chewed thoughtfully on his cigar for a moment, then sat down on the couch next to her. “You know, this ain’t the only hotel I own.”

Margaret looked down at him expectantly.

--

Opening the door, Sabrina found Joshua lying on the bed, face down and unconscious, breathing deeply and slowly. She grinned. She sat on the bed next to him and stroked his hair, marvelling at the size of her enlarged fingers compared to his eyes, ears, nose and mouth. He stirred, groaned and smiled for a moment before his expression quickly shifted to one of alarm. He snapped his eyes open and looked around to see where he was before his eyes rested on Sabrina.

“Hey,” she said. “what’s wrong?”

“Uhm…” he replied, his voice hoarse. “I don’ know. I think I was… I must’ve been dreaming.”

“Oh?” She grinned. “What about?”

“Uh…” he thought for a moment. “I don’ member. Was nice, I think.”

“Well, you were certainly overdue for a nap. When did you come back to bed?”

He closed his eyes again. “Uh… I don’ member that either.”

She frowned. “Josh, are you drunk?”

“…Yes.”

She turned up one corner of her mouth, then shook her head and smiled. “Okay. Are you hungry?”

“No.”

“Well, I am. I’m going to get some food. You stay here and sleep, ok?”

“Mkay.”

She turned him until he was on his back. “And Josh?”

He opened his eyes.

“You’d better get some energy back for tonight. Understand?”

He smiled. “Yes, dear.” His eyes closed again and he was asleep almost immediately.

Sabrina quietly got up and left the room again.

As she walked through the pool area, she could see the sun beginning to descend and the afternoon sun waning. She strolled leisurely through the area, enjoying the stares that she was receiving from the waist-high men sunbathing or drinking by the bar. It is really cool being big, she thought. She went to the bar and ordered a beer, sat down and looked out at the crowd of multi-sized people swimming, playing volleyball, chatting, drinking.

She thought about that woman who was being led out. She looked so familiar, she thought, and sifted through her memories, trying to place her face. For a split second she thought she had it, and then the memory drifted away. Ah well. It’s probably just my imagination. Not very important.

She turned her thoughts from the past to the future. She thought about coming back to her room tonight, to Josh, and having a repeat of their sexual experiences of the previous night. She thought about the following day at the resort, sunbathing and drinking. She thought about the rest of the week, and then she thought about going back home. Shrinking back down to her regular size and going back to her and Josh’s home, together.

She thought about their future and smiled.

Re: Amazon Hotel (story) (Mini-GTS, PG)

And after all that, Sabrina still has no idea what was going on behind the scenes.

I like how Alexandra just throws Dolores under the bus at the first chance. I mean, what on Earth did she think was going to happen if she kept treating people the way she did? Granted, now Alexandra is going to be the new head of the place, but maybe after spending a similar amount of time under Dolores' heel she might not take it to the same extremes.

I'm also wondering how well Alexandra is going to take that whole "Managers can't grow" portion of the hotel policy.
